Brass Band Oberösterreich was formed by Thomas Beiganz in 2002. He is the flugelhorn-soloist in the brassband and the head and organizor of 190 brass teachers in Upper-Austria.
Almost all of the members are teachers for brass instruments and percussion in the “Upper Austrian “Landesmusikschulwerk”.
The most well-known trumpet player in Austria, Hans Gansch, ex-solo-trumpet player of the “Wiener Philharmoniker” and teacher for trumpet at the University “Mozarteum” in Salzburg, is also an active member of the Brassband Oberösterreich.
Band conductor Hannes Buchegger has won the Brassband Championships in B-Section with his own Brass Band “Fröschl Hall Tirol” for 4 times.
The greatest success of Brass Band Oberösterreich was, of course, winning the European titles in B-Section in Groningen in 2005 and in Belfast in 2006.
The European Contest 2007 in Birmingham will be the first experience and challenge for the Brass Band Oberösterreich as it then takes part in the championship section.
